Technorati ranking

I registered with Technorati today. My Technorati ranking is 344,263. Didn't seem too impressive until I saw that Technorati tracks 28,900,000 blogs. This means my blog is in the top 1.19%!

I was curious to see what were the top Technorati ranked blogs. BoingBoing was no.1. This wasn't a huge surprise, I would have expected to see them in the top lot. A few surprises were Cute Overload at no.49 and Stuff on my cat at no.65. I'm a fan of both of these sites (and subscribe to their RSS feeds), but I hadn't realised that so many others were too!

Animals on the Underground

Here's something else I found when looking at interesting things to do with the London Underground map: Animals on the Underground.

Apparently if you stare at the tube map for long enough you'll start to see animals in the outline of the tube lines. I think this is like when you stare at stars or clouds for long enough you start to see other things too.

According to the site the animals currently hiding in the tube map include the following: bat, bald eagle, bird, bird in flight, bottlenose whale, cat, cockerel, dog, elephant, emu, fish, flamingo, hen, hound, lazy cat, penguin, pig, baby rhino, sperm whale, seal, stag, snail, turtle, whale, wombat and wallaby.

Kitty cat wedding cake topper

Everyone who knows me knows I love kitties! This means that my friends often send me links to kitty sites and kitty pictures. :)

Paul sent me this link to a place that makes wedding cake toppers, including a little kitty bride and groom. Cute!

The kitties are getting married!

Third hard reset on my hx4705

My iPAQ had been running very smoothly for the past two days since I rebuilt it. Cool. But then something terrible happened this afternoon - it froze and it wouldn't wake up. Very not cool. :(

Sometimes PDAs freeze and a simple soft reset solves the problem. Easy. But this time a soft reset (quite a lot of them!) did nothing! Very distressing. So, I figured that I was going to have to hard reset again. :(

When I've hard reset in the past I've always done it through Tweaks2k2. I've never actually done it the 'old fashioned way', and so didn't know how. I had a quick look around for the manual, but couldn't find it, so jumped online. Fortunately I found the hx4705 documentation, including the How do I...? booklet and the User Guide pretty quickly.

Now I'm reinstalling stuff. Not too much fun, but if it was going to happen then now is better than later since I hadn't finished re-installing from the last re-build anyway. *sigh*

Second hard reset on my hx4705

Did my second hard reset on my iPAQ hx4705 over the weekend. The memory was maxing out pretty quickly if I was using bluetooth and had multiple applications open, so I figured it must be time for a rebuild.

I checked back through the archives of my blog to find out when the first hard reset was. To my surprise, it was almost exactly a year ago. I hadn't realised it had been so long!

For now I've just re-installed the essentials: Wisbar Advance 2 (and some custom skins), Fitaly, MemMaid, Tweaks2k2, Calendar+, Weather Panel, Battery Pack Pro, Resco File Explorer, Tomeraider, CityTime, CodeWallet, Scrabble and Egress. Yes, these apps are all essential!

The other important thing I've been doing is re-configuring everything to make it just the way I like it. I have my hx4705 pretty heavily customised and I simply can't live with it being vanilla!

Things you didn't know about Arnold Schwarzenegger and Chuck Norris

A friend who loves badgers told me about two websites: Chuck Norris facts and Arnold Schwarzenegger facts. These sites are weird and very funny.

More wedding photos

I've added a few more photos to our wedding photo page. The new ones I've added were taken the day before at one of Hawaii's many beaches. Gotta have beach photos if you get married in Hawaii!
